Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Venturr is operated by Volundr Labs, LLC ("we," "us," "our") based in Castle Rock, Colorado. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Venturr mobile app and website at venturr.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect your information only after you affirmatively provide it (e.g., submitting the waitlist form, creating an account) or, for automatically collected data, after you consent via the app's onboarding flow.

Information you provide:

  • Email address (when joining the waitlist or creating an account)
  • Links to social media posts you share with the app (TikTok, Instagram, etc.)
  • Trip preferences and itinerary data you create

Information collected automatically:

  • Device type, operating system, and app version
  • General location (city-level, used to personalize trip suggestions)
  • Usage data (features used, screens viewed) via privacy-respecting analytics

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Generate and personalize trip itineraries
  • Send waitlist updates and product announcements (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • Improve the app and fix bugs
  • Respond to support requests

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. We do not use the Apple IDFA or any similar advertising identifier. If this changes in the future, we will request your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking occurs.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Venturr:

  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI itinerary generation (text from posts is sent to the AI; we do not send your identity)
  • Apple Maps — map data display within the app
  • Beehiiv — waitlist and product emails
  • Vercel Analytics — privacy-respecting, aggregated usage data

Each provider receives only the minimum data required to perform its function.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data — retained for the duration of your account plus 30 days after deletion
  • Waitlist email — retained until you unsubscribe
  • Trip and itinerary data — retained for the duration of your account
  • Usage analytics — retained in aggregate for up to 24 months

You can request deletion of your data at any time. You can also delete your account directly within the app under Settings. We will process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify the relevant authorities and affected users as required by applicable law.

7. Children's Privacy

Venturr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided personal information to us, please contact us at derek@venturr.app and we will delete the information promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data. We honor all applicable privacy rights.

All users:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
  • Delete your account within the app (Settings) or by emailing us

California residents (CCPA/CPRA):

  • Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and disclose
  • Right to delete your personal information
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share your data)
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Categories of personal information collected (per CCPA): Identifiers (email), Internet/electronic network activity (usage data), geolocation (city-level). Sources: directly from you and automatically via the app. Purpose: providing the Service as described in Section 3. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Colorado residents (CPA):

  • Right to access, correct, delete, and obtain a portable copy of your data
  • Right to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling (we do not engage in targeted advertising)
  • If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing derek@venturr.app with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days.

EEA/UK residents (GDPR):

  • Right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (e.g., JSON or CSV)
  • Right to object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Right to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing)
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority

To exercise any of these rights, email derek@venturr.app. We will acknowledge your request within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days.

9. Legal Basis for Processing (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — generating itineraries, managing your account
  • Consent — marketing emails, waitlist communications
  • Legitimate interest — analytics, security, bug fixes, improving the Service

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework as the legal mechanism for such transfers. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not process special categories of data at scale. For data protection inquiries, contact derek@venturr.app.

10. Cookies & Tracking

The Venturr website uses minimal cookies required for functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Third-party services (such as Google Fonts) loaded on the website may set their own cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

11. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. No action is required on your part. If you have questions, contact derek@venturr.app.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use of Venturr after changes constitutes acceptance.
